In this weeks USA Today, there was an insert titled Sharing in the USA. There were stories about Habitat for Humanity, movie stars Natalie Portmna and Lucy Lui, NFL player Warwick Dunn, and most intriguing 13 year olds Josh Hofing and Talia Leman. Josh is raising money to build a well in Ethiopia. Talia Leman started a non-profit called RandomKid.com. Incredible young people making a great difference in the world.

    Mr. Richardson,

Thank you for posting about RandomKid!

I am Talia Leman, and I am ALL about the power of ANYONE. Kids, schools and youth groups contact me through my website, and I unify ideas with similar goals so that kids can pool their resources to make a measurable difference in the world. They can build and name schools, put in irrigation systems, place water wells, provide surgeries, whatever tugs at their heart. I give them the opportunity to network safely with other youth around the USA and world who are fundraising with them for a certain project, to talk to the people who will be providing the solution they are funding, and to interact with the recipients. We also provide seed money for projects. RandomKid is about YOUTH EMPOWERMENT. By the way, did you know that America’s youth raised so much for Katrina/Rita relief that we ranked with the top 5 US corporations– you know, Wal-Mart, Exxon and Amoco? We have REAL POWER.

RandomKid is a 100% volunteer organization that allows kids to put their education into action.

    Thank you again!

    Talia Leman
