Lessons in the school of hard knocks.
Fun and Frivolous June 13th, 2007
Early this morning, I was walking to my car reading the mail I had just picked up. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the truck five feet away but I didn’t see the cooper pipes extending several feet past the end of the truck. And POW! (like in the old Batman TV show) I plowed right into it. I uttered a Robin like phrase (Holy stupid pipes) as I grabbed my head.
Seems like there’s a lesson in that head bump. Don’t spend too much of life focusing only on the task that is right in front of you lest you find yourself somewhere you don’t want to be.
Coming soon a new blog: Xercise365…my plan to exercise everyday for one year. Care to join me?

Hmmmm…. I think I’d be prepared to try this experiment with you. I’m determined to shed 70 or so more pounds this year. Only about 16 down in latest effort. Are there any specific requirements, like time spent, heart rate, etc.? Let me know.
Of all crazy things, I’m actually looking at getting a dog so I can feel a little better about walking around here, what with all the starving/thirsty large wildlife on the hunt.

My plan is to some type of physical activity every day for a year. My dream situation would be three days of aerobic activity to get my heart really going and three days of some type of weight training. Then day seven would be pretty gentle - floor exercises, an enjoyable bike ride or walk, etc. My challenge, I like being outside so when it’s nice, I tend to do more outdoors stuff and skip the weights - hard to believe I am sure looking at me ;). I was kind of doing the “plan” until mid May when I threw out my back working in the yard. I am trying to heal and thinking I will start July 1. You can make up your own plan and follow it however you want. What matters is that you are doing something that you enjoy. You are much more likely to continue when that’s the case.
Okay — we start on July 1st. I don’t think Thor will be too impressed with my starting weight, though.
I’ll be in Carolina Beach, so it might just be a gentle walk on the beach with baby.
